The Clock Is Ticking

Wow! It is only 36 hours till we leave for Atlanta and then on to Israel. Everyone is really getting excited. Working on a few last minute details with the power converters for the computer, but all of that seems to be working out. We will keep in touch as much as possible. We know we will have Internet access at some hotels we are staying in. We hope it will be available at all of them. Time will tell. Keep us all in your prayers. The group has grown to 25 with one last minute addition.

A Wonderful Weekend

Wow! What a great day at Carmel Assembly. We concluded our two week long Missions Convention with Rev. Thomas Trask, former General Superintendent, as our special guest today. He did a phenomenal job as always. We had 470 in morning worship. The Choir did a wonderful job on the Missions Musical. At the banquet tonight there were over 300 in attendance and more than $43,000.00 in faith promises made for 2009. (P.T.L.) We celebrated God’s goodness in 2008 with over $175,000.00 given last year to missions and benevolence. Thanks to all who helped with the wonderful international meal which included: Chinese provided by the Youth Department (egg rolls, chicken & beef stir-fry, & fried rice), Mexican provided by Children’s Ministries (taco soup, Mexican rice casserole, chips & salsa), Italian provided by Women’s Ministries (spaghetti, chicken alfrado, Cesar salad, garlic bread), American provided by Men’s Ministries (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & all the fixings) and an array of desserts provided by Music Ministry. When you add all the beautiful decorations, it was a wonderful night.

Well it is only one week until we leave for Israel. The excitement is building by the minute. Let me know if you have found the blog and what you think about it.

Headed To Israel

We are leaving for Israel on February 1 and will return on February 13. We are really beginning to get excited about the trip. There are 24 of us going and it promises to be a wonderful time. I have been researching a lot on the Internet so I will be ready for everything we will have the opportunity to learn. Since I am a visual learner, I expect this experience to be invaluable to me. I told my Wednesday night class that we might have to deviate from the scheduled teaching series that is taking us through the Bible book-by-book, and just talk about Israel for a few weeks when I get back. Please keep us lifted up in your prayers as we go.

Shalom, Pastor Tom

This Is All New To Me

I hope this will become a tool that I can use to communicate with my family, friends, and church family. I look forward to using this blog during our upcoming study tour to Israel. I will work hard to get the hang of it quick.
